Zyra gives a positive perspective of madness, having SCHIZOPHRENIFORM PSYCHOSIS IN A SETTING OF SCHIZOID PERSONALITY DISORDER and having spectacular visions of the future and various mad behaviour and managing to run various experimental businesses and actually make money. Zyra has experience of being in the asylum but generally survives by using a set of bizarre self-management strategies which seem to work. Being a high-IQ mad scientist, this character not only survives (mostly) but also tries to use the schizophrenia to good effect. Madness has its good and bad aspects, and just about anyone in history who has been great has also been MAD.
